Bubbles, Battles, and Breaking Barriers: Rebecca Rosenberg on Madame Pommery and the Champagne Widows

Season 4 Episode 22

I’m excited to be joined on the show today by guest author, Rebecca Rosenberg. On this episode we’re going to talk about her book, Madame Pommery, part of the Champagne Widows series, based on real-life widows who grappled with the loss of their husbands only to realize that their new marital status allowed them to own their own winery under the Napoleonic Code. These Champagne Widows overcame pandemics, mental illness, sexist laws, wars, and foreign occupation to forge their champagne empires.
